ORE makes open, trusted publishing possible for researchers across Europe.

Open Research Europe (ORE) is a no-fee, open access publishing platform providing transparent editorial services for a wide range of research outputs.

Launched by the European Commission in 2021, ORE was created to give researchers funded by EU programmes a trusted place to share their work openly and transparently. Since then, the platform has helped advance a publishing culture where publicly funded research is openly available to everyone.

In 2026, ORE entered a new chapter. What began as a European Commission initiative has a collective partnership, supported by a growing community of research funders and institutions working together to build a sustainable, not-for-profit alternative for scholarly publishing.
