Digital Security

About Browse

The use of digital technologies is irremediably embedded in modern societies and allow us to perform daily activities such as purchasing goods online, storing health data, and expressing ourselves in social media. However, these actions could be potentially threatening if unprotected from data leakage attacks. Digital security is the collective term to define the tools employed to protect our online presence, data, and other assets.

The aim of this Collection is to gather the latest research performed in the broad area of Digital Security that analyse the current threats and limitations of our security systems, and propose alternatives and new approaches to tackle future challenging scenarios.

Potential topics include but are not limited to:

  • Cryptography: homomorphic encryption, zero-knowledge proofs, digital signatures, light-weight devices, hardware improvements, lattice-based cryptography, among others.
  • Post-quantum digital security.
  • Digital Security tools: Instant Message encryption, Navigation Privacy, Telephone Encryption Tools.
  • Data protection: user data leakages, effects in contemporary law and policy.
