Earth and Environmental Sciences

About Browse

Earth and Environmental Sciences is an interdisciplinary field which incorporates the study of the earth surface, the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, biosphere, and environmental system processes. Scientists in this field analyse how the physical, chemical and biological systems of Earth interact with one another, make observations, identify patterns and processes, and model the impact of changes to these systems. As well as studying Earth systems currently, researchers make predictions about what will happen in the future and use evidence from the past to understand the present.
This collection includes the following disciplines, although submissions are not limited to these fields:

  • Atmospheric Sciences
  • Hydrology
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Physical Geography
  • Geology
  • Soil Science
  • Geochemistry
  • Oceanography
  • Palaeontology
  • Geophysics
