Software

Software is the set of instructions, data and programs needed to operate computers and perform tasks. It is the opposite of hardware, which refers to the physical parts of computers.

Potential topics include but are not limited to:

- Application Software: it is the most common type. It executes specific tasks for the user, or for another application.

- System Software: it oversees the computer hardware and serves as a platform for applications. System software coordinates the activities of the hardware and software.

- Programming Software: it provides the programming tools software developers need to create other programs.

In this collection we welcome empirical studies, theoretical results, and validation studies.
