Open Research Europe has been accepted for indexing in Scopus! This is a major milestone and provides further validation of the rigour of the publishing model, as well as recognition for the quality of the research published on the Platform so far. We would like to acknowledge the Scientific Advisory Board members, Community Gateway Advisors, Collection Advisors, authors, reviewers, and readers for their support and contributions since the Platform launched in March 2021.
Over the coming months, all articles that have passed peer review on Open Research Europe will be included in Scopus, and readers will be able to see Platform’s information page in Scopus within the month. The inclusion of Open Research Europe in Scopus will significantly increase the reach and visibility of work published on the Platform.
About Scopus
Scopus is the number one abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed journals which contains more than 70 million items like scientific articles, conference proceedings, book chapters, lecture notes, and books. For inclusion, publications must adhere to specific publishing requirements that include a demonstrated academic contribution to the field, quality of content, and diversity in the geographical location of editors and authors.
’We are very content that Open Research Europe will be indexed by Scopus. It is an acknowledgement of the high quality and reliability of ORE as a publishing service for the research community, and of its success in operationalizing important principles of Open Science. We look forward to further developing Open Research Europe and expanding it in the future.”
Kostas Glinos, Head of Unit for Open Science at the European Commission.
About Open Research Europe
Open Research Europe is an innovative open access, post-publication peer reviewed platform dedicated to research and scholarship stemming from Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe funding. Launched by the European Commission, it is advised by a leading international Scientific Advisory Board. In 2021 it was awarded the DOAJ Seal reflecting best practices in open access publishing. Currently, all content is indexed in Google Scholar, syndicated in Zenodo once passing peer review, and will soon be sent to Inspec too. Being accepted for indexation in Scopus is the next step in the journey to making Open Research Europe even more successful.
