Why publish with ORE?
ORE is designed to help researchers share their work openly, rapidly, and responsibly. Backed by a partnership of national research funders, research performing organisations, the European Commission, and CERN, ORE offers a trusted publishing environment built to serve the research community.
Wide range of research outputs welcome
With 14 article types to pick from, you can share your work in whatever format actually fits it. The wide variety of content types means you can publish at every stage of the research cycle, making more of your work publicly accessible. What articles types are accepted?
Rigorous pre-publication checks for every submission
Every submission is thoroughly evaluated to ensure published content meets the standards expected by the research community. Checks cover research ethics and integrity, plagiarism, language and readability, image integrity, and more. Discover the full list of pre-checks.
Rapid dissemination
After prechecks, a fully type-set copy of your work goes online, enabling immediate viewing and citation directly after submission. Peer review then happens in the open, after publication, so there is no need to wait for a review cycle to finish before others can read your work. Learn more about ORE’s publishing model.
Transparent review model
Peer review reports are signed by the reviewer(s), independently citable, and published alongside your article. Your response to reviewer comments is also public. Peer review is thus an open and constructive discussion aimed at making the research better, and it gives reviewers credit for work that is typically invisible. Learn more about peer review at ORE.
Reach amplified through indexation
All published articles are indexed in Google Scholar and when your article passes peer review, it will be indexed in a variety of bibliographic databases, helping to make your work searchable and discoverable. Find out more about ORE indexation.
Data practices made FAIR
ORE supports FAIR standards (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) in data reporting. This means that other researchers can reanalyse, replicate, and reuse your data, therefore improving reproducibility and increasing impact. Read ORE’s open data guidelines.
Open access mandate fulfilled
Publishing on Open Research Europe meets your funder’s open access requirements without extra steps on your side.
Without fees for authors or readers
And critically, neither you, the author, nor the reader have to pay any fees. Article processing charges.
