Transport

About Browse

The Transport collection aims to provide a multi-disciplinary platform of theoretical and empirical contributions across engineering and social science disciplines.

Transport is changing at an accelerating pace because of several factors in many diverse but interconnected fields. Examples include technological innovations such as the increasing use of digital technologies in automated and connected vehicles, transport infrastructure, logistics operations, aeronautics, and safety applications. We are also seeing the industry respond to major socio-economic trends such as an ageing population, community income, migration, and urbanisation. Global targets such as those detailed by the COP 21 Paris Agreement and by the UN Sustainable Development Goals are increasingly setting the transport agenda for businesses and governments alike. There is also increased international competition for the transport industry across all modes with new operations and business models based on increased connectivity between infrastructure, transport types, travellers and goods which are contributing towards increasingly seamless door-to-door mobility.

Subjects include but are not limited to:

  • Aviation
  • E-Mobility
  • Fuel analysis
  • Interoperability and e-mobility
  • Maritime transport
  • Multimodal transportation
  • Sustainable transport and fuels
  • Transport sector economic analysis
